It's a trap alright
by Mark Yannone
This three-part series struggles mightily with the idea of freedom, yet the ideas of rights and justice are ignored, as though freedom could exist without them. All of the talk about "negative freedom" and "positive freedom" is utter tripe. Missing from the first part is the concept of "enlightened self-interest," the factor that accounts for the difference between game theory and reality. The lessons to be learned are these: The central planners never quit, and the more they do, the worse life becomes for their targets.
